Sunny Briar grew up roaming the grounds of UC Berkeley, the campus her professor father called home. When she became a student, the Berkeley library remained her favorite place in the world, and she dreamed of one day seeing her own books on the shelves. After a few years working in a stuffy office, Sunny left the corporate world behind to focus on her true passion—writing romance novels about characters who love freely, openly, and with their whole hearts…whether or not those hearts are beating.
Sunny’s books weave paranormal elements with themes of soul-deep longing, forbidden love, and connections strong enough to overcome any obstacle. Full of lush settings and college-town charm, Sunny uses heartache and tension to explore humanity—and beyond.
Today, Sunny lives in Berkeley with her husband, who melted her heart with his smile when they first met (and still does). After a whirlwind romance that served as the inspiration for one of Sunny’s books, they married in a century-old chapel and moved into a historic cottage together, where they live with their two children Amelia and Samuel, their spoiled (but loveable) Boston Terriers Lilly and Peanut, and their snuggly kittens, Prizee and Misty.
Sunny loves the idea of living life to the fullest, savoring every second and embracing new adventures. No matter how busy life gets, Sunny makes a weekly pilgrimage to the Berkeley library to relax, soak in the smell of old books, and draw inspiration.
